And goodbye summer. Goodbye June, July, and especially August. If summer has been my decidedly least favorite time and season, fall is to be my absolute favorite.
I've started my "Bring on Autumn" post at least three times now and have found it's harder than I'd imagined to look forward. But, in this case, forward means brilliant leaves, spiced lattes, and cable knit sweaters. It's book club, football season, and tennis practice. Getting back into a routine, cooking and crafting, and state fairs and corn mazes.
And those things, I can look forward to.
I wasted no time running full force into a new season. On September 1st I baked a green bean casserole. For breakfast.
I was in line for Starbuck's pumpkin spice drinks the week they were out.. and have already decided there must be a better way to make these things. (So this morning I tried out: Peas and Thank You's pumpkin latte. My version still needs work.)
I said farewell to summer's highlights and went straight back to brunette. Don't worry, they'll be back.. once I'm done encouraging fall to hurry up.
I've ordered a new comforter and pulled out the down mattress to make things extra comfy-cozy. I'm not quite to the footy pajama stage, but it'll be here soon enough.
So here's my rallying effort to push through what's left of this summer stuff and on to a better place. We'll always be able to look back at summer. I'd just rather do it from under a blanket with warm apple cider.
Cheers, the blog's back.

Woohoo! We've all been waiting for a new post.
